Seamus Ryan's photography reflects his strong passion for people and the portrait genre. His strong people skills ensure a steady flow of celebrity portrait commissions as well as bold character work. He has worked on countless advertising campaigns,editorial commissions and theatre posters over a twenty year career. From 2006-2017 Seamus held weekly portrait sessions for the public in his Shoreditch Studio. The project, called Sunday Shoots, is a vivid record of the spirit and diversity of the thousands who took part in these experimental photo shoots.
Seamus is also founder and director of the Republic of Photography, an experiential company that brings innovative photographic experiences and solutions to events and product launches. It is also home to his range of bespoke photo booths and pods. Permanent booths in Topshop stores throughout the Uk and Rough Trade stores in London, Bristol and New York are a testament to the enduring appeal of the humble photo booth not to mention Seamus' lighting skills.
He has been awarded by The Association of Photographers and D&AD for his work and has work included in the National Portrait Gallery's permanent collection.
